Why Strength Training Matters (For Everyone)

Strength training isn’t just for athletes—or for people who “love the gym.” It’s one of the most powerful ways to care for your body long term.
What most people don’t realize is that muscle loss starts earlier than expected. Women begin losing muscle around age 30–31, at about 3–5% per decade if strength training isn’t part of the routine. Men experience this too, but life stages like pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause often make the changes more noticeable for women.
Less muscle can mean more joint pain, lower bone density, balance issues, blood sugar changes, pelvic floor symptoms, and less confidence with everyday tasks—like lifting kids, groceries, or even getting up from the floor.
Strength training done intentionally and progressively helps protect your body, support your pelvic floor, and keep you doing what you love for years to come. The goal isn’t to move more—it’s to load your body well, with proper technique, breath, and recovery.
