Pelvicon 2025 Highlights ✈️

ree

Earlier this month, Nikki and I had the opportunity to attend Pelvicon 2025—a conference that brings together over 650 pelvic health therapists from around the world.

It’s truly one of our favorite weekends of the year. Imagine being surrounded by people who love talking about 💩, sex, and the latest lube innovations as much as we do! We spend the weekend geeking out about new research, learning from incredible speakers, and coming home full of fresh ideas to support our patients here in Alaska.

Here are 10 takeaways we couldn’t wait to share with you:

1️⃣ Traveling across time zones? If your gut slows down on long trips, try fasting during travel and resuming your normal eating routine once you arrive. It can help reset digestion and keep things moving.

2️⃣ Notice when you leak—during or after a cough? That small detail gives us big clues about how your pelvic floor and pressure system are coordinating.

3️⃣ TENS units aren’t just for back pain. They can be helpful tools for certain bladder and bowel issues when used appropriately.

4️⃣ Only 14% of healthcare providers routinely ask about sexual health. We think that number should be 100%—because sexual wellness is a vital part of overall health.

5️⃣ Your pelvic floor issues might start at your feet.Even an old ankle sprain can change how your body moves and loads, influencing your pelvic floor over time.

6️⃣ Pregnancy and postpartum bring more than just baby bumps.Constipation, bloating, and hemorrhoids are all common—and treatable—changes we see every day in the clinic.

7️⃣ “The menstrual cycle is the wheel that drives humanity.” Tracking your cycle (at any age!) helps you understand energy, mood, and recovery patterns—turn it into your superpower.

8️⃣ Constipation is one of the top reasons kids visit their pediatrician.Pelvic health isn’t just for adults—kids benefit too!

9️⃣ Waking at night to pee?It might not just be your bladder. Leg swelling, blood pressure changes, or sleep apnea can also play a role.

🔟 Chronic pelvic pain deserves attention and care.Up to 70% of women with endometriosis experience ongoing pelvic pain. You don’t have to live with it—help is available.

Why We Share These Insights

Every takeaway reminded us why this work matters. Pelvic health impacts everything—from how we move to how we connect with others.

Our hope is that something here helps you (or someone you care about) live with less hesitation, less worry, and more confidence in your body.

If any of these hit home, we’d love to help you understand your body better and create a plan that supports your goals.
